2014
I believe the percentage of quality, expert Macintosh support in the Columbus area is thin and tough to find.
My past employment situation did not allow services to be offered to small
and medium sized companies.
Therefore, my goal is to provide services to all companies no matter what size.
Who
Mike Richards, a veteran of Macintosh computers and networks since 1988. Spent 8 years in the 90's as Sarcom's Mac expert. The last 6 as a Senior Engineer. Worked in large marketing and advertising departments with many variations of Macs and servers. Experienced with many network topologies and mixed server platforms.
What
My entire career has been dedicated to providing pre and post technical support for Macintosh workstations, servers and networks.
I have experienced all facets of the product life cycle. Technical pre-sales, quotes, research, installation, moves, updates, repair, training and any other Apple/Mac help. This has made me very well-rounded in the support role.
I have been told that I'm quite the geek but can explain anything in the most basic way so that anyone will learn the technology. I am very flexible, friendly and have a positive outlook on just about any situation.
Research & Quotes
I will research, design and quote Apple and related products in small and large networks.
Experience and knowledge in current OS X, Server OS X and backwards from 10.9.x thru OS X 10.0 and even before OS X, System 6 thru 9. I do know System 4 but you'll have to have a Macintosh 512 to run it on.
Also work with all iOS devices, iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad with variations on integrating them into the corporate network.
Installation of Hardware & Software
Design, implement and support Macintosh LAN and WAN networks in sole Macintosh environments or in mixed networks. Simple or complex networks, complex DTP workstations and servers. Expert on Raid 0 thru 5, Retrospect Backup, online/cloud backup. Well versed in routers, bridges, WiFi access, Internet access and cross-platform E-mail. Support and working knowledge of the main DTP applications. ColorSync and color calibration of monitors, scanners and printers. Pre-sale, manage and document projects.
Instruction
Teach tech classes one-on-one or classroom. Create and type up technical cheat sheets or instruction manuals when manufacturer’s manual is lacking or translated badly.
Support Hardware, Software & Networks
Once equipment is installed, who are you going to call when it breaks?
Not only do I install it, I will help you take care of it. Whether you just need phone, VPN support or a physical person onsite, I can help out.
